Mindfulness in Education
Mindfulness in schools is increasingly popular, and research suggests there are many benefits of mindfulness in young children academically and on mental well-being. More specifically, a research study at Bangor University, involving the Paws b curriculum, identified that pupils who were taught the course experienced increased positive attitudes towards their learning compared to the students who weren’t taught paws b. There were also significant improvements in meta-cognition (such as the children’s ability to initiate and organise work) and emotional well-being. To explore the research further I suggest you check out the original research article.
